Jack Kornfield

Jack Kornfield, one of the most renowned Buddhist teachers in the West, guides participants through this special evening on meditation.

He begins with an overview of Buddhist psychology, which illuminates the root causes of human suffering and the fundamental ways meditation can be used for emotional healing and spiritual freedom. He then introduces primary meditation practices taught in the Buddhist tradition, including concentration, mindfulness, and the awakening of loving-kindness. The evening is framed within the context of recent scientific research demonstrating the power of meditation in reducing stress and improving physical and emotional health.

Returned and disrobed in 1972 and later obtained a doctorate in clinical psychology. Invited by Trungpa Rinpoche to teach Theravada meditation at Naropa Institute. Taught meditation internationally since 1974.
